Out with the Old, In with the New

Elise has been begging to have one of her teeth come out since last fall. I kept telling her that i couldn't do anything about it until the tooth was loose. A few weeks ago I checked her teeth while we were brushing them, low and behold she had a very slightly loose tooth. But at least it was something to look forward too. Last week she really really worked it loose. By Friday (9th of may), it was very loose and ready to come out. So we waited till daddy came home to pull it out. During the course of the day she would flip flop back and forth between the desire to loose her tooth, and fear of the pain of loosing a tooth. She got very nervous a few times. We told her she didn't have to do it, but in the end she decided to go for it. Dad tied a string around the tooth, and yanked it right out. Our first lost tooth.

Elise with all her baby teeth.

This is kind of a dark picture, but you can see the bottom left tooth is a little out of place.

There it is, out.

She was very excited to have the tooth fairy come. She got left a dollar that she carries around and unfolds and folds again.

Wahoo for losing teeth! McKay lost her first tooth yesterday. She was so excited because she wanted to lose it before school got over so she could get on the "tooth chart". Phew...she made it by two weeks. I can't believe how much Elise looks like you! She's such a cutie!

Congrats to Elise!! There's nothing like losing teeth when you're that age!

Yeah, for being able to make it on the chart before leaving kindergarten! I remember having to go back to sign the chart after I was already in 1st grade! :)
