On our way out of Fruita, we stopped across the street at the Dinosaur Museum. It has inspired Elise to become a Palaeontologist. It was a great little museum.

They say this is the actual size of a T-rex head. Even though Kyle is smiling he's still keeping an eye on those teeth.

This dino spit "deadly venom" (water) at you if you walked by at just the right moment. None of the kids were very fond of this one and it was a challenge to even get them to run past.
They had a place where you could dig up dinosaur bones. To be honest, the bones weren't deep at all (they could all be seen) but the kids had a great time just playing in the pit like it was a sand pile. They used finly chopped up walnut shells for the filler. We inadvertantly brought some home with us.

After we left the museum we drove throught he Colorado National Monument. There are a lot of rock formations and even places to hike. Pretty amazing what mother nature makes.per
