We decided to clean out under the deck and put some pavers down. It' covers all the dirt (no more mud there) and is safer than the wood pile. It's also a nice place to sit when there is little shade on the patio.
First we cleared out the spot, the brought in the pavers. They were really heavy, and we had a lot of them.

This is what Brendan did to occupy himself while we were working. He just crawled right in, and was happy about it.

Nice job, that was a good idea. That will be a great sitting spot whenever you want shade! And it looks very nice.
Nice patio...it's always fun to add something new. Brenden is so cute under the saucer!! Babies are so easily entertained.
Really I'm not afraid to admit it but I COVET your yard. I know it's bad but I want one! Nice job on the new patio. Perfect place to read while the kids play!
